Abstract

This study presents the results obtained from the formulation of hypotheses, the examination and critical reflection of data from various sources, made up of business actors whose assessments were quantified and determined as key aspects for the study of organizational long-suffering. It is highlighted that there are many social phenomena that are not precisely understood, especially in the business field, that lack definition and therefore are ignored or not interpreted, such as the survival of SMEs. Whythis sense, organizational long-suffering is one of the best ways to explain why some companies manage to survive longer than others, despite facing the same difficulties and disruptions. The solution to this scientific concern has been possible thanks to the focus and contribution of experts, businessmen, administrators, and entrepreneurs who operate in the western region of Honduras. The information was collected through questionnaires, focus groups, and structured observation of the natural environments of operation of 146 SMEs. These organizations have been analyzed from different angles, trying to differentiate the empirical concepts that are confused as resilience, persistence, and survival of long-suffering organizations.
