Relationship between financial inclusion and profitability of small and medium enterprises in Honduras

Abstract

Due to the increase of entrepreneurs with initiatives and ideas to start their own business who do not have a financial culture, lack of knowledge about sources of financing, how to manage credit, among others, the objective of this research is to determine through a documentary review, the existence of a direct relationship between financial inclusion and profitability in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Honduras, using a qualitative methodology of documentary research with a descriptive non-experimental approach, emphasizing the results of the articles that relate our study variables, and from a review of fifty-four (54) documents including articles, theses and studies, a direct relationship was determined between the profitability of the SME with the level of financial inclusion to which their owners have access, having access to different financial instruments, as well as having knowledge of the proper use of these, tend to be that their small businesses are more profitable, likewise, it was evidenced that for Honduras no scientific articles were found that relate the variables of financial inclusion and profitability in the SME, which makes it possible to do future research in the country.
