Abstract

The West of Honduras is a region with great potential for business development. It has a young and dynamic population, abundant natural resources and a strategic location that connects it with the markets of Central America and Mexico. However, west of Honduras also face a series of challenges that hinder and condition the entrepreneurship ecosystem. These challenges include the lack of infrastructure, the shortage of financing and the weak business culture.

The governments of Honduras have implemented policies and strategies to consolidate the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the west of Honduras. Although these strategies have had some positive impact on business development in the west of Honduras, there is still a lot of work to do to create a favorable environment for entrepreneurship in this region.

  The actors who influence positively and/or negative Evidence results. Public policies oriented to entrepreneurship must be aligned with national strategies to stimulate entrepreneurship. These policies must be based on evidence and must be effectively implemented. It is important to harmonize entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship ecosystem and entrepreneurship categories to develop effective public policies. Business development is a complex process that requires the participation of all actors involved.
