Abstract

The Honduran entrepreneurial ecosystem has been the subject of growing interest due to its potential to boost the economy and generate employment. In this study, an exhaustive bibliographic review of the main regulations governing this ecosystem in Honduras was carried out in order to understand their impact on the promotion and development of new businesses in the country. A characterization of the economic profile of the country is established, focusing on the department of Francisco Morazán, in addition to this, the main actors of the ecosystem are analyzed and the main actions to support entrepreneurs are identified. In summary, it was found that the Honduran economy depends on MSMEs for more than 50%, so national strengthening policies are essential, as well as the identification of funding sources and the creation of an accessible database can provide strength to the services available at both the private and public level. In Honduras, migration and unemployment are catalysts for entrepreneurship, but political and financial challenges are faced, so the public sector must strengthen consolidated sectors, secure capital and recognize high-impact ventures, complementing this with education that fosters an entrepreneurial culture that prepares citizens for the challenges of society in general.
