Abstract

Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is part of reality in different areas, that include personal and working levels. This transforms many aspects of life, such as the academic field and implies the need to be at the forefront of this topic and investigate students' knowledge, perception and practice of AI. For this reason, it was considered to carry out research that would allow us to know the opinions of the students of the Faculties of Health and Social Sciences of Universidad Autónoma de Santa Ana, UNASA about the topic. To address the problem, a qualitative approach was used, with a cross-sectional non-experimental design and a descriptive scope. The question that guided the development of the study was: What is the knowledge, perception and practice of Artificial
Intelligence among the students of de UNASA? The results showed that students know about AI and use its tools in the academic area since the Covid-19 pandemic, because they were forced to migrate to virtuality. Also, it was found that AI as an academic resource has benefits such as time savings and disadvantages such as students' dependence on this type of technology. Regarding
students' perception of AI, this is positive since it leads to innovation and confidence when they perform tasks. The frequency of use of AI did not have a predetermined consensus time, but rather a constant use.
