Abstract

The ethnic Community of Monkey Point and the indigenous community of Ram an appealed for protection against the President of the Republic and the Attorney General for Justice. in the face of the government’s attempt to grant concession for the construction of a dry canal on their traditional elands. The author of this article supports the request for protection of these communities. analyzing the Nicaraguan National Constitution and the various national laws, As well as the main Declarations. Conventions and Intern national Agreements that ensure the rights of these communities.
