The melody of the set up Creole songs in the city of Bluefields

Abstract

Beholden, Cotton Tree and Old Bank are the traditional Creole neighborhoods of Bluefields. They are where the Set-Up rituals are performed. These neighborhoods are also, according to historian Hugo Sujo, the most populated by this ethnic group. It was here where the oral tradition that we now present about the Set Up was compiled. This was done with the objective of documenting the autochthonous way in which the Creoles watched over and buried their dead and also to verify if this ancestral custom is maintained.
