Author Biography

Danilo Salamanca Castillo, Bluefields Indian & Caribbean University - Nicaragua

Danilo Salamanca Castillo: Nicaragua, 1951. Doctorado en Lingüística por el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts (MIT) (1988). De 1990 a 1994 fue director del Centro de Investigaciones y Documentación de la Costa Atlántica (CIDCA) y de la revista científica Wani. Es uno de los más importantes especialistas en el idioma indígena miskito, del cual ha publicado diversos artículos en revistas especializadas. También ha publicado diccionarios y gramáticas sobre esta lengua. Ex presidente de la Asociación Centroamericana de Lingüística (ACALING). Desde el 2004, labora como investigador asociado al CIDCA, institución adscrita actualmente a la Bluefields Indian & Caribbean University (BICU).
