Abstract

The novel Mamita Yunai published in 1941 by Carlos Luis Fallas, is approached from the critical analysis of the discourse, taking into account the social context and its relationship with human rights; From the linguistic category, I identify the adjectives that characterize the characters with the purpose of analyzing the different social groups and their access to social justice; Regarding the interdiscourses, it is analyzed if the human rights of the social groups that they segmented are reproduced or claimed. Discussing social inequalities in Costa Rican culture allowed me to observe: gender violence, marginalization, contempt, as well as racism towards men and women more specifically according to their gender, social class, and ethnicity.
