The Research Journal of the Universidad de Oriente (UNIVO) has been revitalized under a new editorial administration by the Directorate of Scientific Services and a fresh approach from UNIVO Editores, now rebranded as the LOGIKÉ Research Journal.

The concept of Logiké (from the Greek λογική) is central to science, philosophy, and Western rational thought. Etymologically, λογική (logiké) originates from λόγος (lógos), a term remarkably rich in meaning: word, discourse, reason, argument, and so forth.

Thus, Logiké literally signifies that which pertains to the logos—that is, to reason and rational discourse. In Classical Greece, Logiké was not initially an isolated discipline, but rather a fundamental human faculty: the ability to think rationally, the capacity to organize thought, and the correct use of language to understand reality.

In synthesis, Logiké, as the journal's inspiring concept, seeks rational truth, understood as the alignment between thought and reality. This implies clear definitions, non-contradictory principles, valid inferences, coherence, demonstrability, an intellectual attitude, a commitment to reason, and the rejection of arbitrariness.
