One of the striking elements that came to light in the process of organizing the Francisco Gavidia Documentary Fund (Fondo Documental Francisco Gavidia) is the abundant presence of material related to music, including scores, some of his own making, others with annotations in his own handwriting. This article sets out to shed light on this dimension of Gavidia’s work and intellectual trajectory. It is more descriptive than analytical in nature. This is due to the rather uncertain status of music in Gavidia’s work as a whole; however, this first approach succeeds in establishing some conclusions about this work.
