Abstract

Agroecological tourism is emerging as a strategy for sustainable rural development, promoting community participation and generating direct economic benefits. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study proposes the "Weaving Participatory Networks" methodology to design and manage tourism routes that respect the environment and strengthen social cohesion. By fostering active participation of local communities and adapting its approaches to each context, this methodology ensures the long term sustainability of these initiatives. Their success depends on several interrelated factors, such as community involvement in all phases of the process, environmental sustainability, respect for local culture, promotion of fair trade, and continuous innovation. The implementation of this methodology involves a participatory process that spans from initial diagnosis and joint planning to implementation, monitoring, and continuous evaluation. In conclusion, "Weaving Participatory Networks" offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to rural tourism development, ensuring that tourism experiences are authentic, meaningful, and respectful of the biocultural environment.
