Revista de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales is a biannual academic publication of the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades-CENICSH (National Center for Research in Social Sciences and Humanities), attached to the Vice Ministry of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 2011, and one of its objectives is to become an open and critical space for the establishment of a dialogue agenda for social sciences and humanities that contributes to the academic community. Therefore, it is available to national and international researchers. It also aims to build bridges between the different disciplines, expand the theoretical horizons. The editorial lines are determined by the topics of national interest that allow understanding the framework of our country. The journal is structured in six sections: Agora, Studies, Inquiries, Dialogues, Memory and Reviews.
Agora
Interdisciplinary section and reflective and critical development on the development of the disciplines of social sciences and humanities, both in terms of thematic and methodological. This section admits texts of diverse elaboration, that break with the traditional characteristics of the scientific article.
Studies
Dedicated to the presentation of results of long-range research on issues of relevance to the country. This section admits the presentation of final research results in the form of the scientific or academic article.
Inquiries
In this section, partial approaches, balance sheets, states of affairs or by-products of an investigation will be published, however, they must be elaborated and comply with the norms of the scientific article.
Dialogues
Reserved for the publication of thematic and biographical interviews to academics of the social sciences and the humanities, and to intellectuals or officials whose work is linked to education.
Memory
Important documents are presented for reflection on emerging issues of national interest, as well as for the disciplinary self-reflection of social sciences and humanities.
Reviews
It is dedicated to bibliographical criticism.
Editorial Guidelines
Arbitration system
The articles submitted to the Indagaciones, Estudios and Ágora sections will have to be original and have not been published totally or partially in other journals. The editor will submit the articles to the review of two external specialists whose observations will be transferred to the author for his consideration.
For the Studies and Inquiries sections
The papers will be presented to the institutional email: cenicsh@mined.gob.sv, specifying in the subject the name of the journal, or to the address 25 Calle Poniente # 835, Colonia Layco, San Salvador, El Salvador, Central America.
They must be original articles, unpublished and in Spanish. The extension of the articles for Studies will range between 8,000 to 10,000 words, while for Inquiries it will not be greater than 6,000 words. Letter size, in Times New Roman font, 12 points and numbered. Line spacing 1.5. Margins of 2.5 cms. on each side. Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt., Single space.
On the first page of the article should include: title of the article, five key words (in English and Spanish). Also, full name of the author / s, their institutional affiliation and email.
The summary should not exceed 200 words. The English version (abstract) must be included. It should contain the important concepts of the work, method and conclusions.
Structure: like any academic article, so it must contain an introduction, bibliographic review, development, results, conclusions and final references. The works must be submitted according to the CHICAGO 16 standards. See:

References should be arranged alphabetically according to the last name of the authors.
The biobibliographic data of the author will be included in six lines at the end.

In the case of charts, graphs and maps:
They must be delivered in a different document. Also, each one will be numbered in Arabic (Example: Table 1). Titled and at the bottom of the box their respective source. The citing rules will always be followed depending on the nature of the document. It is recommended not to abuse capital letters or italics or bold. Only the italics will be used in foreign terms, new or with special emphasis; in the footnotes in titles of newspapers, books, journals. The bold type only in the title of the article, title of chapters and subtitles.
For the Agora section
This section admits texts of diverse elaboration, that break with the traditional characteristics of the scientific article, therefore, it does not require the structure of the previous sections, nevertheless, they must be respected, the norms indicated in relation to the dating system and in the related to the presentation of tables, graphs and maps.
For the Dialogs section
A presentation to the interview must be included. Extension: 2,000 words. Author's data of the interview: Name, last name, institution, email. All interviews must be submitted in Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5.
For the Memory section
A presentation to the document must be included, indicating the origin and its relevance. Extension: 6,000 words. The spelling of the original must be respected, but it must be indicated with [sic] in the case that the word that precedes it seems or is incorrect. In addition, the data of the responsible researcher must be attached: Name, surname, institution, email.
For the Reviews section
It must contain the bibliographic reference of the work: Author, title, place of publication, publisher, year, number of pages and ISBN. Extension: must not exceed 3,500 words. Author's data of the review: Name, last name, institution, email. All reviews must be submitted in Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5. The bibliographic reference in bold. Appointments must be submitted in accordance with the Chicago Rules 16.

Central American Journals Online (CAMJOL) is a member of the Ubiquity Partner Network coordinated by Ubiquity Press. We regularly backup our databases, and we use reliable cloud service providers (Amazon, Google Cloud, Linode) to ensure they are kept securely. Backups are regularly rotated and the old data is permanently deleted. We have a clear internal data handling policy, restricting access to the data and backups to key employees only. In case of a data breach, we will report the breach to the affected users, and to the press/journal contacts within 72 hours.
Personal information is only used to deliver the services provided by the publisher. Personal data is not shared externally except for author names, affiliations, emails, and links to ORCiD and social media accounts (if provided) in published articles and books which are displayed as part of the article/book and shared externally to indexes and databases. If a journal operates under open peer review then the reviewer details are published alongside the reviewer details.
