This article is a brief presentation of an institutional research, which was carried out between August and November 2023 in the departments of San Salvador and La Libertad. The general objective of the research was to identify the practice of self-medication in older adults with osteoarthritis and arthritis, for which 20 people belonging (under anonymity and informed consent) to the community of residence of nursing students were sampled. In general, the practice of self-medication exists, even under the knowledge of the families, but without considering the risks involved.
