Keywords:
Craft model, technological transformations, scale economy, learning curveAbstract
This work shows how technological change involves knowledge, technique, organization and produces an impact on the transformation of production, marketing and consumption processes. In this case, the wood carving model is analyzed, which brings together the aforementioned aspects, adding the other component of a learning curve and knowledge acquired between generations, values and culture of the territories. Hence the importance of knowing the process of producing wooden furniture, under the artisanal model, which begins with access to the raw material until obtaining the final product. It should be noted that this artisanal model has strong competition with the industrial model, reflected in costs, yields and scale of economies, which affects prices, in this case of artisanal products. On the other hand, in this model there is a relationship of dependency and marginality, which translates into subsistence production. Hereafter, the importance of knowing the artisanal model of wooden furniture production, from its operation and how it transforms the raw material with the use of more modern tools that result from the technological relationship between production and product innovation. It should be stated that the basis for the analysis of the artisanal production of wood carving are the workshops located in the municipality of Nueva Concepción Chalatenango; which show that this model is the one that has had the most transformations regarding the use and application of technological tools in the production process, which has generated a new learning curve and the creation of new products
