Abstract

The following research exercise explores the motivation of third grade students of the Centro Escolar Ponciana Ramírez, in the learning experiences in the area of scientific inquiry and communication. This is within the framework of the curricular reform and the transformation of the pedagogical model implemented in targeted schools in El Salvador. The motivation of students when they participate in active participation methodologies is described, as well as their motivation towards learning and its practical application. In addition, the influence of these methodologies on students’ autonomous learning is mentioned, without omitting the limitations that arise in the process. In this study, the ethnographic approach was implemented through the application of participant observation and interview techniques. The importance of motivating students through meaningful learning is emphasized, highlighting the role of the teacher as a guide in the teaching-learning process.
