This study analyzes sociocultural affairs in the public space of Eufrasio Guzmán Park in San Miguel, El Salvador, through a qualitative research approach based on phenomenology. The study examines the interaction dynamics among different social actors, including passersby, informal vendors, and municipal representatives, to understand the symbolic and functional construction of the park. The methodology includes participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and qualitative data analysis using Atlas.ti software. Findings reveal that the park functions both as a transit space and a meaningful cultural and commercial gathering point filled with commercial, cultural, and religious meanings. Additionally, the study identified tensions between the formal and informal uses given to the space, thus allowing for a reflection on the appropriation and redefinition of the urban environment.
