Abstract

These reflections stem from the research process of my Master's thesis in Cultural Studies, Sabidurías guerrilleras: acerca del proceso de formación en las FARC-EP (1982-2016) (Guerrilla knowledge. About the FARC-EP’s formation process (1982-2016)). Based on this, the lines of this essay are a call for the preservation and study of the insurgent archive, which comprises documents, photographs, objects, poems, songs, wisdom, and oral and written stories by FARC-EP guerrillas. The recovery of the insurgent archive and guerrilla memories opens a window for the investigation of the cultural and educational practices of the FARC-EP guerrilla, including daily cultural sessions, artistic creations, and political formations. These activities once shaped the worldview and collective memory of the guerrilla. Focusing on these archives allows us to approach the daily life, political project, and symbolic universe of the guerrilla, aspects that have been overlooked in official narratives. This challenges monolithic and dehumanizing narratives about the FARC-EP and opens a window into aspects of guerrilla life.
