The government of Tiburcio Carías Andino included as part of its administrative policy the formation of the Central District, for the regulation of the cities of Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela, by the executive branch. This council would henceforth be responsible for making decisions concerning administration in general terms. In relation to the latter, the president of the Council Tomas Quiñones, together with the other members, will execute a series of measures aimed at generating environmental awareness, which is reflected in the creation of special laws for the protection of forests, municipal ordinances for the control of garbage and care of water sources among others; It is also important to note that emphasis was placed on the dissemination of this knowledge through the means of dissemination available at the time, such as bulletins, newspapers and special editions published for that purpose.
