Abstract

This research note introduces the transcription of an unpublished document by one of the founders
of what is today the Autonomous National University of Honduras, the Father Alejandro Flores. This
document exposes the version of the indigenous uprising of 1871 in the southern departments of
Honduras, by the person who served as a mediator between the government of José María Medina
and the rebels.

Apart from some data about certain historical figures involved in the events, this note does not
seek to make any interpretation or analysis of the historical events that Father Flores addresses in his
document.
