Common good and multiculturalism: key to the development of Tolupanes Montaña de la Flor

Among the “Montaña de la Flor” and Tegucigalpa, capital of Honduras, there are more than 150 kilometers. Lives there part of one of nine ethnic groups from Honduras: The Tolupanes or Xicaques. For them, part of their worldview is linked to water as an integral element of nature and therefore endowed with a spiritual phenomenon. Several problems coexist around water, an element that is abundant in the fertile area which is threatened by excessive logging of timber and land grabbing by the strangers ladinos.
The text analyzes the social dynamics of indigenous peoples Tolupan in the “Montaña de la Flor”, specifically their expressions as integrated social group toward sustainable human development, therefore,the Interculturality category is used. The facts found in the Tolupan’s zone are part of a six-month investigation, through a qualitative methodology, following the theory of the action social (Weber), and the theory of the sociology of knowledge (Berger, Luckhman); It has also resorted to other social disciplines to reflect the possible scenarios.
