Abstract

This article reflects upon the participative cartography as a methodological tool for work in realms of memory. Its analysis focuses in the experience of cartographical production of inhabitants of the community of Arcatao who experienced, during the 1980’s armed conflict in El Salvador, the stages of exodus, refuge and resettlement. Through these life experiences, they were able to redefine the meaning of territory and the construction of territoriality.
