Comments on the document "Fiscal Pact for Sustainable Development"

Abstract

The Fiscal Dialogue Promoter Group has launched the initiative of a Fiscal Pact in Honduras aimed to discuss and propose solutions to the public finance imbalances. From the experiences of fiscal adjustments years ago, the pact is called to go beyond a technical solution where expenses are reduced and revenue increased without measuring the social cost increase. The proposal is based on the idea that reducing fiscal imbalances while maintaining the ability of fiscal policy to promote economic development of the country should prevail.
