Although in the last 15 years, the entrance of women to higher education in Chile has been greater in relation to men, at present we still find areas of knowledge where male enrollment predominates, generating this in turn in the labor field since the same patterns are reproduced, segregating women to study and work only in some of the knowledge. The methodology used was based on a positivist paradigm, with a quantitative epistemological approach, a longitudinal study was carried out, to the admission enrollment from 2005 to 2018 to each one of the knowledge areas, to which the different careers are assigned. offered by Chilean universities. An analysis of the enrollment from 2005 to the present was made to know if the predominance in each of them was male or female. The analysis of the results of this research shows that there are areas of knowledge that have been changing over the years and went from being masculinized to having a greater female presence, as it is in the areas of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Veterinary; Art and Architecture, but there are still other areas such as Administration and Commerce; Technology and Sciences where the masculine presence in majority.
