Contribution of MYPES to the generation of employment in the Eastern Zone of El Salvador

Abstract

 Micro and Small Enterprises (MYPES) ​​are a fundamental part of the regional and global economy. It is essential to understand their contribution to job creation and impact on the economy. Therefore, this article pays special attention to their current influence. The importance of having solid economic policies that support the efforts of these companies is examined, the factors that influence MYPES to achieve their subsistence and economic growth are addressed. Likewise, the main findings obtained from a survey administered to 347 microentrepreneurs and 34 small entrepreneurs in the east of the country in 2023 are presented and specific actions are proposed to strengthen the role of MYPES in the sustainable creation of jobs.
