The dilemma of Salvadoran society

Abstract

We often say that we live in a society in crisis, you may want to think that more correctly is a society in transition, and that crises are the means to evolve or revolutionize obsolete structures that do not resist the needs imposed by a new framework of values, the establishment of different relationships between the various strata of society, the new interests of the dominant groups, or the expectations established by the power in that complex framework of global and transcendent objectives, which give character to the direction of the Nation.
It is also necessary to consider the external influences, the fields of action that in the course of history the dominant nations impose, in their character of hegemonic centers, on the peoples of the periphery.
As a general rule, today, just like yesterday, small elitist groups of our societies adhere to formulations elaborated by and for the benefit of other nations, of different economic systems, which as a rule are awarded the right to define the horizon and living conditions of large sectors of the population on the margin of development and in opprobrious conditions of poverty.
