Abstract

In El Salvador, in recent months, we have observed an unexpected increase in consumer prices, corresponding to this generalized change in prices to what is commonly known as inflation, the underlying being that which excludes the fluctuations of some products that, for their own nature, are considered highly volatile, as are hydrocarbons and the price of some foods subject to the seasonality of the crops.
In such a way that the increase in the prices of food and hydrocarbons, on a world scale, would explain this phenomenon to a large extent; although core inflation has a more structural character.
