South-south migration: the case of Nicaraguans in El Salvador

Abstract

The research "South-South migration: the case of Nicaraguans in El Salvador" describes and analyzes the main causes why thousands of Nicaraguan men and women are emigrating to El Salvador; what cities of Nicaragua come from; indicates in a general way its geographical location in El Salvador.
In which work areas they are working; describes the perceptions of Nicaraguans regarding how Salvadorans treat them, as well as their perceptions regarding the presence of Nicaraguans in the country, and, finally, a description of the celebration is made of the feast of the "Purísima" (the patron saint of Nicaragua), in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Lima (department of La Unión) and its impact on the local culture.
