Abstract

The relation between economics and politics can be observed in the field of public policy. That is what the basic manuals of Macroeconomics and Political Science usually do. However, the moments of economic and political (re)structuring constitute an opportu- nity to deepen its study that does not usually appear in those manuals. The economic and political history of El Salvador offers several such opportune moments to study the relations between economic and political structures. Above all, if they are observed through the prism of the agent/ structure analytical dualism. This implies consi- dering these relationships not directly, between structures, but indirectly, between people who operate as agents in both structures. Historically, economic (re)structuring in El Salvador has had a correlate in political (re)structuring.
