Abstract

The economic, legal, political, scientific and cultural changes have favored the destructuring of the patriarchal feminine identity. In the case of El Salvador, at least since the peace accords, the sociopolitical activism displayed by the various feminist movements and women's organizations have questioned the definition of women as beings in function of others. Several studies produced in El Salvador in recent years give an account of the projection of women in the public space through science, economics, politics and culture. Despite this, reflection on how these changes have impacted the narrative of women in everyday spaces is pending. From the field of cultural studies, this research analyzes the narratives of Salvadoran women with the aim of identifying continuities and/or ruptures of the patriarchal female identity model in the 21st century.
