Abstract

The values that have been traditionally associated with women are those of sensibility, compassion and care for others. All of them are oriented toward the relationship with other people: the stereotype that collects all these values presents a kind woman, sensitive, quiet and able to externalize her feelings, as these main features have built her personality. It is therefore necessary to deal with the issue of gender inequality focusing on the roles played by men and women. The incorporation of Chilean woman into the labor market has modified the traditional scheme in relation to the roles and tasks that have each gender, so that society must join this social changes and gradually abandon the patriarchy to assume new cultural schemes.
