Abstract

Caliban, Shakespeare's character in the book The Tempest, has had many ideological interpretations ranging from critical readings of coloniality to feminist readings. This is a text written in the context of a course on contemporary communication theories and attempts to make a critical review of these readings by three key authors in modern thought: Fernando Retamar, Rubén Darío and Silvia Federici.
