Abstract

This article explores the materials and conditions that influence physical thermal insulation processes. Based on a theoretical approach to heat and temperature, it highlights that thermal conductivity and resistivity, along with properties such as heat capacity, are key determinants of the efficiency of insulating materials. The study reviews high-impact bibliographic sources to identify innovative materials, such as aerogels and nanomaterials, which provide thermal tolerance and efficiency with minimal thickness. Regarding the results, there is a growing interest in biologically derived materials and combinations of organic and inorganic materials due to their balance between sustainability and effectiveness. Additionally, external factors such as humidity affect thermal performance by reducing the insulating capacity of internal structures. Finally, the study emphasizes the importance of optimizing internal structural properties and exploring advanced materials to enhance energy efficiency in thermal systems.
