Normas Editoriales

The following rules will govern the process of presentation, evaluation and publication of the research results that are submitted for publication to the journal:

General data

  1. For the purposes of this document, the author or authors of an investigative production are hereinafter referred to as the Authors, "Notes on Economy and Society" are referred to as the Magazine, the evaluating juries are referred to as Referees or Evaluators and the investigative productions as Products.
  2. "Notes on Economy and Society" is an open access journal published by the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the UNAN León, electronic every six months, continuously, indexed, arbitrated and peer-reviewed, aimed at disseminating the research carried out by researchers of any nationality.
  3. The investigative productions can be of individual or collective authorship. They must be unpublished, original and must not be presented in other scientific journals.
  4. The double-blind arbitration system will be used, which will ensure the reliability of the process, keeping the identity of both the Authors and the Arbitrators confidential, as well as the content of the evaluations issued by them and the Editorial Committee.
  5. The Journal does not charge any fees for editorial processing, nor for the publication of articles.
  6. Plagiarism or fraud is strictly prohibited and Products that are identified as plagiarism or their content is fraudulent will NOT be published. The Journal accepts a maximum of 10 percent similarity for such a case and uses specialized software for its detection. Authors who comment on plagiarism will be suspended indefinitely from Notes on Economy and Society .
  7. When Authors discover a material error or inaccuracy in their published Products, it is their obligation to immediately notify the Journal Editor and cooperate in removing or correcting the document.
  8. The evaluation of the Product will be done according to criteria established by the Journal, referring to: originality, relevance, timeliness, contributions, scientific rigor and compliance with the standards established by the Editorial Committee.
  9. Original and unpublished Products will be received and submitted to the arbitration process; therefore, Authors are recommended not to simultaneously send their Products to different media outlets. Works that are not unpublished are not ruled out, when in the opinion of the Editorial Committee and at the request of the Authors, they constitute a significant contribution to the area of knowledge .
  10. The Magazine is not responsible for the opinions and affirmations expressed by the Authors in its pages. The ideas of the Authors do not necessarily reflect the point of view of the institution.
  11. All Products must represent contributions in the area of research that help create new visions, theories, methodologies, among others, to the scientific research world.

Of content

  1. The Products to be published can be Scientific Articles in the different qualitative and quantitative modalities, Review Articles, Research Advances, Essays, Bibliographic Reviews, Presentations or Publications derived from events, Scientific Notes and any other type of research oriented to the treatment and deepening of information from the fields of economic sciences.

Of the arbitration process

  1. Any referee who does not feel qualified to review any Product must promptly inform the Publisher.
  2. The Editorial Committee in the figure of the Editor reserves the right to verify compliance with the Publication Rules before starting the arbitration process.
  3. Two or more Referees will be assigned for the evaluation of the Products, who will send the results of the evaluation, in the event that there are observations, they must be accepted by the authors for their due publication.
  4. Products that do not strictly comply with the Journal's Publication Guidelines and Regulations will be returned to the Authors, who will have a second opportunity to re-send them with the required requirements.
  5. The Editor will communicate to the Authors the result of the evaluations that can be: ACCEPTED, ACCEPTED SUBJECT TO IMPROVEMENTS, REJECTED.
  6. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to request the Authors, whose Products have been approved through a letter of acceptance, to make new modifications. Having a letter of acceptance does not exclude Authors from making changes at the request of the Editorial Committee.
  7. The Products selected for publication will not receive any financial compensation of any kind. They will only be given proof of publication signed by the Editor and/or corresponding authority.
  8. The final decision to publish corresponds to the Editorial Committee. The measure of the Referees and the Editorial Committee is final.

  1. All the Products that apply to be published in the magazine must be sent through the “ Open ” system. Journal Systems ”, which is free magazine management and publishing software. The list of Submissions must be accepted and a copy of the digital files will also be sent to the email: apunteseconomia@ce.unanleon.edu.ni
