In the current situation under COVID-19 circumstances, more Salvadorans are willing to get products or services through different online platforms. Progressively, businesses are catching up this trend and looking for a viable model for selling online. To define a viable model, this research was conducted with businesses and consumers from all sizes and types. The results show market dominance of established e-commerce mobile platforms in specific product categories; this dominance has influenced the overall perception of how the user’s shopping experience should be in terms of payment, delivery and consumption based on promotions. However, it is not the best way for all merchants from all categories. The common factor is precisely the lack of understanding of the consumer to offer
the most appropriate experience.
