This research explores the management of creative capital as a resource present in the community, through the analysis of the Design for Social Innovation projects at the Mónica Herrera School of Communication in El Salvador. Through a qualitative analysis of four design projects implemented from 2016 to 2022, the ways in which creative capital was expressed, both individually and collectively, were examined. Good practices in managing this community resource were identified, and the creative environments where the participation and interaction of all key actors in the projects were generated were described. The principles and capabilities required for the reconstruction of a management model were captured. The research concludes with the importance of considering all individuals as creative with capacities that allow them to contribute to the design process and emphasizes that all actors are part of the same community, where commitment and trust create spaces for collaboration that broaden the purpose of each executed project. The research suggests that design should be viewed as an ongoing conversation, creativity as a local resource to be managed, and inclusion from the perspective of empathy and valorization.
