This study investigated the relationship and influence that work commitment can have with its dimensions of affectivity, continuity and regulations in the development of work stress, in employees of banking institutions, with one year of seniority in their position, of the Central District, Francisco Morazán, Honduras. The design is of a non-experimental quantitative type, the nature of the research is explanatory (causal), it is cross-sectional and probabilistic. The work commitment scale is based in the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire OCQ (Organizational Commitment Questionnaire), the stress scale is measured by the index of work-related tension. The application of the questionnaires will be done through the Google form system, sent to the collaborators through the available electronic systems, prior authorization consulted. A Cronbach’s Alpha result of 0.93 was obtained. The validity of the Work Commitment construct measured by Kaiser- Meyer-Olkin was 0.809, Sig. .000; Work Stress of 0.547. The correlation that exists is considerable between the variables of work commitment and stress. Regarding the causal relationship between the variables of work commitment and stress, a relationship is determined on the Y axis of 44,638, that is, the point for which X has no relevance or is worth zero. It was concluded that there is a positive causal relationship between both variables.
