The study analyzed the competitiveness of secondary wood processing industries in Siguatepeque using Porter's Five Forces Model and the Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM). All 22 legally registered carpentry shops in the municipality were considered, and a subsample of four companies was selected for detailed comparative analysis. The results show that rivalry among competitors is moderate (64%), the bargaining power of suppliers is also moderate (55%), and that of customers tends to be low (45%). The threat of new competitors is perceived as mainly low (45%), while substitute products represent a moderate risk (55%). In the MPC, company B stood out with the highest score (3.06), demonstrating technological and location advantages over the others. Overall, the sector has strengths in quality, experience, and customer loyalty, but faces limitations in modernization, technological innovation, and commercial management.
