Abstract

Honduran entrepreneurs face considerable challenges related to taxation and financial education, which limits their ability to formalize their businesses and access the benefits of the tax system. This article explores the tax and financial barriers they face, the impact of the lack of financial education on voluntary taxation, and the strategies needed to foster a culture of tax compliance. Through a mixed methodology that includes literature review, surveys of entrepreneurs, and data from the Tax Administration Service (SAR), solutions are proposed to improve tax education, simplify processes, and promote business formalization.
