Abstract

According to the coroner's report, the body found that morning in the bushes by a stream had been dead for 72 hours and was beginning to decompose. Neighbors alerted authorities when they noticed, in the distance, the swarming of carrion birds, which had already begun to vie for viscera and intestines.
