The analysis of the bactericidal effect of the aqueous, ether and methanolic extracts of the vegetal taxon Bauhinia monandra Fabaceae, commonly known as “cow helmet” or “cow hoof”, has the main goal to demonstrate the bactericidal activity of the plant. Furthermore, some other goals are to offer a therapeutic action, commercialize a possible product and to offer a valuable contribution to science. The vegetative material was obtained in the community of Villa of San Francisco, Francisco Morazán, through a non-probabilistic sampling, in which 3 kg of the vegetal material was recollected, with a net weight of 1570g of dry vegetal material. The aqueous, methanólic and ether extracts were made through the assembly of the Soxhlet equipment, in the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy, National Autonomous University of Honduras, following the methodology according to Trease, G.E. and Evans, W.C. They were treated under an in-vitro analysis, in the Faculty of Sciences of Microbiology, at this university, with bacterial stocks of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923) and Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922). The results proved that there is no inhibiting effect (bactericidal or bacteriostatic) on none of the extracts, with the bacteria in the test. The results present similarity with the vegetal taxon Bauhinia Variegate, studied by Martinez, M. ET to. in 2011, confirming the veracity of our results.
