The therapist's personal style is an essential component of the therapeutic process's effectiveness, as it directly influences the way the relationship with the patient is established and interventions are delivered. This essay presents the factors that shape this style—such as personal history, communication skills, values, and professional training—and reflects on their impact on clinical practice. It highlights the importance of self-knowledge, self-care, empathy, and a reflective attitude as fundamental elements for an ethical, humane, and effective intervention. Beyond technique, it proposes a comprehensive view of the therapist as a human being in constant growth. This essay invites future psychotherapy professionals to develop not only their clinical competencies but also their ability to live and practice with authenticity, sensitivity, and commitment to their own and others' well-being.
