This article investigates the feasibility of implementing a “demilitarization” process in Honduras similar to the one carried out in Costa Rica. The overall objective is to determine whether it is possible to eliminate a fixed military structure and reshape the Honduran defense system accordingly. To assess the feasibility of this project, a comparative analysis of the Costa Rican process and the Honduran context was conducted. This comparative analysis has revealed certain similarities that would define it as “a possible dream.” However, the obstacles to such an ambitious goal remain evident.
