The objective of this study is to define the media consumption situation among young people in the department of Sonsonate post-COVID-19. The analysis approach was descriptive-quantitative. Information was collected using a questionnaire created in Google Forms, which was then analyzed to perform a statistical analysis. The initial survey with a non-parametric convenience sample included 219 young people aged 15 to 30 who participated voluntarily. The majority were between the ages of 15 and 20 years, with a higher participation of women than men. The most notable finding is that despite coming from rural geographical areas and being students, most of the young people have access to the internet, but they do not necessarily make use of educational platforms, as the main use for inquiries is social media. The most important aspect is that young people strive to participate in educational and cultural events through social media, such as webinars, discussion forums, tutorials, and music, dedicating an average of five hours a day to using social networks such as WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook.
