Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of emotional intelligence in leadership to foster an optimal organizational climate. The objectives of the study are to review emotional intelligence theories, explore previous research on its impact on organizational performance, and discuss implications for business leaders. The methodology involves a review of scientific literature and case studies. The results highlight that leaders with high emotional intelligence- characterized by self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills– make better decisions and foster collaborative environments. This leads to lower turnover and absenteeism, higher employee satisfaction and engagement, and improved organizational performance. The conclusions emphasize that developing emotional intelligence in leaders is crucial for building positive and resilient corporate cultures. It is recommended to integrate EI training into leadership development programs and establish metrics to evaluate its impact. Future research could explore the implementation of emotional intelligence programs in different sectors and their adaptation to diverse and multicultural teams.
