This essay addresses a brief historical account of the premiere of the Manuel Bonilla National Theater (TNMB), held on July 25, 1916, and focuses mainly on the analysis of the role played by the Spanish operetta and zarzuela company "Ughetti Severini". The research has been developed from a qualitative approach and through the historical method, which allows the analysis of the real trajectory of events of the past. In this context, a journey is made that goes from the creation initiative to the inauguration of the TNMB, as well as the formation of the Company and the expectations prior to the premiere of the emblematic theater in Tegucigalpa. Likewise, the musical and theatrical analysis of "The Chocolate Soldier", a Viennese operetta by the Austrian composer Oscar Straus, with which the Company debuted at the TNMB, is deepened. Finally, the study considers the critical
opinions issued in a newspaper of the time, after the premiere of the theater, in 1916.
