Abstract

Neuroarthropathy or Charcot's disease is a destructive systemic disease that generates pathological changes in the musculoskeletal system, causing fractures, dislocations and deformities that affect the foot and ankle, among others. It is a devastating complication for diabetic patients, generating osteoarticular deformities with a risk of ulceration, infection and amputation of the lower limbs.
